JANUARY 2010 January and December have been really exciting months for us here at Rainbow Rescues Inc. At the end of 2009 we placed several of our furry friends in their forever homes. Our furry friends have found wonderful new families who love and adore them and though we will miss them we know that they are finally in the homes they deserve. This January we have contacted On The Border and we have scheduled a Give Back Night. What does this mean to all of our Rainbow Rescuers? On February 3rd we will be participating in a wonderful program with On The Border. Any of our supporters who dine at On The Border in West Springfield and bring our OTB flyer with them will automatically have 10% of their check donated to Rainbow Rescues Inc. This is a fantastic way to support our organization while having a great time. Our staff and volunteers will be on hand to have a great time and enjoy a night out to support our cause. Please come and join us. All you have to do is print out this flyer, show up, and have a great time. This January we also are taking part in a Rescue Operation to try to save a wonderful dog who has had a hard life. Frankie has lived in a cage for at least six years of his life without any physical contact for the last year. This poor guy had developed trust issues so deep that he will need full time rehabilitation. We are working closely with Pioneer Valley Pet Care to try to rehabilitate this poor dog and teach him how to be a dog who can interact with people. We are very excited about the progress Frankie has made and we are hopeful to find a Critical Care Foster Home for him or find a Training Facility who can dedicate the full time care Frankie will need until his behaviour modification is complete. We are working tirelessly on Frankie's behalf to save him from his fate at the dog pound, but our time is running out. September 2009 Everyone knows that every day you can click on the Animal Rescue Site and give to local Animal Shelters and Rescues, but did you know that know you can help your favorite shelter/rescue win thousands of dollars. During the Animal Rescue Site's Fall Vote you can click each day to vote for your favorite rescue. The rescues with the highest amounts of votes each week win prizes. Isn't that fantastic? These are more free ways to help out Rainbow Rescues Inc. As always we are looking for monetary donations as well as some donations of goods. August 2009 We have officially received our first donation check from igive.com. Thank you to all of the faithful supporters who have downloaded the igive tool bar and are shopping like crazy. igive. com is allowing our supporters to quickly and freely donate to our organization. Each of these companies has agreed to donate a percentage of your purchase to our cause. Some percentages are as low as .8% but some are as high as 12% and every little bit helps. That would cover the cost of a pet's food for a week or the cost of some vaccinations. Now imagine if you are a heavy Internet user and search 3 or 4 times a day or more. It is simple free and easy and it benefits our cause. July 2009 Rainbow Rescues Inc is looking for donations to help meet our Spay/Neuter needs and our medical costs. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in soliciting gifts and funds from companies and the general public. We would also like to start planning a low cost spay/neuter event for the local community. Please pass on this information knowing that if even one person signs up or volunteers our rescue group can potentially save another life. All donations are tax-deductible and all volunteer work will create a warm and fuzzy feeling in your heart. Rainbow Rescues Inc is a small 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to changing the world one pet adoption at a time. Our organization is 100% volunteer run, which means that 100% of your donation goes toward helping our pets. We are in need of both monetary donations as well as desperately in need of bedding, blankets, food, toys, chewies, litter, leashes, collars, and bowls. We are also in need of foster families willing to take a displaced pet into their home on a temporary basis. Being a foster family is a wonderful experience and an easy and inexpensive way to help out a pet in need.
